Cars II
So. I've been there when my mother bought a car, but I have never had the pleasure myself.

Yesterday, we did.

We had to say goodbye to our car. We've had this car for almost three years and got it from Crocky's godmother who wanted to sell it and let us have it for the price of the repairs it took to keep it on the road because she is amazing. It wasn't cheap, but we could just about afford it so Crocky could get to work.

I'm really going to miss this car. When I saw it for the first time I had an instantly positive reaction towards it because it seemed so familiar. Driving it was like driving my mother's car, the car I drove most often growing up. Both my parents have always really liked VWs, and my mother's cars were always this shade of green when I was growing up, too.

When I went car-shopping with my mother, we looked at the car, she looked over the car's history and the car, then she received a bill and purchased the car, transferring the money from her account.

Under this assumption, we did not bring cash, but were told that this is apparently how you pay a used car.

Alright. Shady, but who are we to argue.

Turns out it's not that easy to get hold of a large amount of cash. The machines only let you withdraw so much, not all banks let you withdraw that amount all at once, so we had to juggle a bit to get it together. But, it worked. The way from the bank to the car was scary, though, and I've never paid as much attention to Crocky's backpack as I did those twenty meters.

We did receive a bill with the terms of the purchase along with all the other papers, but still, cash? I had believed that there would probably be payment options other than handing over a large pile of money, because there surely must be people who have to get loans to buy their car? Or can only pay in rates? Apparently not here, though.

After saying goodbye to our green car that we drove home with our new acquisition:

Comes with air conditioning and a sticker of a cat on it. We did not quite get the number plate we wanted, but chose an alternative that's still nice.
