Butterflies

Goodness, I don't have a life anymore! Sorry for spamming, but I love butterflies, they are the prettiest creatures I know and I did want to show you some. Yesterday, my awesome Mum took us (Julian, Crocky and me) to the Butterfly House in Hamburg. That's a kind of zoo for butterflies. It consists of three greenhouses in which the prettiest tropical butterflies flutter around freely, it's a truly magical place and I remember coming the first time when I was around six.

It was scary to see just how many people had brought their camera when we were there. I remember that back then, there were around five people who had one, now it was every second person in the room who had either a camera or a mobile phone with a camera function. Scary. They are probably sitting at home doing exactly the same thing I am doing just now.

Still, these butterflies are soo pretty! And huge, compared to those we have here, at home, and far more colourful. Well, apart from the peacock butterfly, of course.

So, here goes.

Can you see the caterpillar?

Not a butterfly, I know, but there were some other pretty things in the garden.

Aren't they cute?

Under-water butterflies.

So. Will toddle off now. Sorry for the spam attack!

Wow, they are really beautiful (and coming from me, that means a lot ;) Still, not even for a lot of money would you get me inside that butterfly house *shudders*

Gorgeous as always. My favorite is the third one down.

I enjoyed them all. Except the bee. :-P

Those are all so lovely. Even the bee. Though I will be grateful it's just a picture.

Thank you! I was getting worried you might not like those with the long legs and hid them behind the cut, good to know that they were still un-scary enough to look at!

You're definitely missing something, but I do see your point. Crocky was not too happy either when that huge, brown butterfly settled down on her.

Thanks a lot!

Ooh, the third one down is mine, as well. :) Good to know someone else likes it, too!

Don't you like bees?

Mind you, it was really hard to it to sit still for 1/1000 s. It was too fast for me.

Thanks a lot!

But the bee is all, well, plushy! Surely it does not look too dangerous?

Those with the long legs, as beautiful as they are, are indeed icky. *shudders again* Thanks for cutting.

I'd have screamed and run, honestly. I commend crocky for her bravery.

Heh. We obviously have similar (i.e. perfect) taste.

Bees make me run around in circles, flailing and screaming.

Don't ask what behavior wasps cause.

I have a slight phobia of them. It's not a bad photo; I just don't like the bee...
