I actually really liked the movie, mostly because of Barbara, so much I wanted to read the book for a more detailed, in-depth story of the two characters. I liked it even though it made me cry buckets for poor Barbara and made me want to reach through the screen and give her hugs and even though I hated the agist double-standards, too and the way we're apparently supposed to think it's creepy that respectable women of her age have feelings and desires! Shockingly!11
