Day 5 - Corris Mines, Rhaeadr Pistyll

Towards Rhaeadr Dolgoch.
Rhaeadr Dolgoch.
Caving for beginners.
Tal-y-llyn, where the sleepers lie in Susan Cooper's The Grey King. (Fire on the mountain, shall find the harp of gold; Played to wake the sleepers, Oldest of the old;), This book series may or may not have significantly spurred my love for all things Welsh.
Welsh signs come in Welsh first and English second, and the further north you get, the shorter these English translations get, until they're gone entirely.
Art carved from the former tallest tree in Wales, a Douglas Fir close to Lake Vyrnwy.
Lake Vyrnwy. I'd like to go diving there, as the village was flooded after the dam was built.
Pistyll Rhaeadr, the highest single-drop waterfall in Wales, I think.
Driving in Wales - not for the faint-hearted. Right behind that flimsy fence, the road drops hundreds of meters into a valley.
Again, the views make up for it.

I have taken your example with the second half of my second batch of Hamburg pics and not written so much about each. The patience is one thing - that I usually have - but the time for it simply lacks. I have to look up so much afterwards, and then translate is, as all my galleries are bilingual, for they serve also to tell my family and some RL friends about our trips...
