Books

I hate living so far away from the university. Today, I have to return my books to the library, and that means I have to tour one hour into the city, return my books, turn round, and another hour later I'm home again.

All I want to do is curl up in my bed and wait until my cold is gone again, but nooo, I have to take the books back, plan a double period for tomorrow, find out how the dreaded camcorder works, buy a cassette, come to think of it - oh, I hate today. Oh, and I have to mark the film reviews my students handed in. Marking is so hard, I never anticipated how bad it would be.
One girl's language is far from perfect, but her content is good: 2. Another girl's language is nearly perfect, there are things missing in her content, but she does make great points I hadn't anticipated: 2. But if I give one girl a 2, can I really give the other girl a 2? And what about the guy who's got everything, but doesn't give any examples at all? His language is ok: 3. But if he's got a 3, then the other girl... Yeah. I hate marking.

I have started it months ago and I am not that impressed, to be honest. I hate that girl and I hope she's going to die. What was her name again? Kitty? No? Something along those lines. Kate! Yeah. Whatever.

Sick, too? *sends best wishes*

An hour? Goodness, I need half that long and find it annoying, to say the least. But I guess moving somewhere closer is out of the question for you?

Marking is horrible, it's one of the reasons I didn't want to become a teacher. Hope you're giving yourself enough time despite all the work to cure yourself properly!

Yeah. *sneezes* And due to the internship I don't have any time off. Ah, well. It's life. I'd better get used to it now. It's still crap to be standing in front of a class all sneezy and headachy - and tomorrow, I'll even be standing in front of a class and a camcorder. Gah.

You're sick, too? *reads* Oh! That sucks! I hope you're feeling better already. :) Good luck!

Moving closer is indeed out of the question due to financial constraints and job-seeking constraints (due to internships, papers, fullest timetables...) because studying is my top priority. I plan go job hunting once the internship is over, though, for next semester, when (... if?) I won't have 34 SWS and seven papers.

All the best. :)

Yeah, I'm a bit better. It's just a bad cold now. I'll probably cancel work tomorrow, although I need the money, but I so can't picture myself keeping these stupid children quiet during homework time when I feel like this... How you manage that all stays a complete mystery to me!

Good luck for now, and next semester as well!
All the best to you, too :)

We always got three different marks: language, style, content.
The way they should be weighed is up to the teacher.
I guess my teacher did it 2:1:2 or something like that.
I always found this way of giving three marks the best she could have done. It shows the pupils where they stand concerning language, style and working with texts/movies/blah.
And it this way the end mark is grounded and can be explained easily.

Shadowmancer gave ne the shits with its overt and often contradictory christian message. It was an alright story made clumsy by the need to inject some very dubious christian moralising.
