Ready for Halloween

Winter can come - I'm not that good yet, so most of my knitting output is limited to scarves and hats. Among them, I've been working on a set of pumpkin hats.

This is the first model and then both together:

Next, I'll try my hand at a blueberry hat, and I've still got to block the asymetrical scarf that I've knitted. It's taken on the dimensions of a long blanket, albeit not a very broad one.

Amazing! I have never seen knitted hats like that!! I would not dare to wear them, though.... I am simply too old for some kinds of fun ;-)

They're mostly found in pattern collections of hats for babies and toddlers. I'm not sure I'll wear them to school, they're not formal enough, but for Hallowe'en in the smaller classes - sure. :D

The pumpkin hats are cute! And it's fascinating too see how quickly you get the stitches more even. Looking forward to your other projects!

Thanks! I mucked up the slip stitch decrease on the left model, and the ribs of the pumpkin follow a different pattern (alternating knits and purls), that's a large part of the reason why it turned out so lumpy. The second one has all-purl-ribs and no decrease outside the green leaves, that makes it look way more tidy.

These are so adorable! I love the way the 'stem' curls around. I really must learn to use proper needles instead of a loom. And I have to say, with all respect to mineras_eule, I'd wear these in a heartbeat - I'm so old I've just gone with it and embraced my inner child again. ;)

There are a lot of really helpful videos on Youtube for learning how to knit if you ever get tired of the loom. That's something that I never mastered - I only got everything tangled and figure-eight-shaped. :D
I'll see if I'll wear the hat - I usually don't do hats, since they squash my already not very voluminous hair and then electrify it, but it's a must for Hallowe'en this year. :D

Wow. I once tried to knit the same hat twice. The result was ... quite not like this. Lovely, and I love curly Bündchen!

They look more similar on the picture than they are in real life. The patterns I used are slightly different, and one's bigger than the other, and one is way more lumpy. I can't really figure out how to replicate patterns exactly yet, and I don't think I ever will.
