mothwing: "I can't be having with this" next to the grim looking face of Granny Weatherwax (Granny)

I can't decide whether this is hilarious or scary

In the documentary "Guys and Dolls", this one guy shares (at about 4:50, I think) that:

"I expect women to be naturally attracted to the kinds of guys who do exciting things. Whatever you fly, you can try and impress women with that, and they will try to look interested and impressed, but what they actually want is a guy with beer in one hand and a pack of fags in the other who watches soap operas, I guess. And they're just not impressed. It's kind of baffling to me, I guess.
So yeah, here I am, a super hero, but it's deemed irrelevant. So yeah, looks like it's just me and the dolls for the rest of my life as far as I can see. But there are worse things in life than living with dolls, really."

Good that he found the right kind of partner, I suppose.

He sounds so very much like a nice guy...

Yep, seems as though these guys (with the possible exception of the fetish case. Possibly) have taken the nice guy mentality to its logical extreme by purchasing these dolls.

Somehow I skipped the "documentary" part of your first sentence and thought you were talking about the musical Guys and Dolls. I was very confused.

Oh dear, and now that I've actually watched it, yes. Nice Guy. Making the mistake all Nice Guys make and thinking of women as Women, the monolithic entitiy, instead of a collection of individual people, the same as men.

ETA: OMG, pubic hair replacements!

ETA the Second: Oh. My. Just finished the whole thing. The girlfriend! Who thinks a nose stud makes her open-minded! Who the desperation rolled off of! But at least had enough dignity to break up with the guy after the supremely creepy birthday party.

Hah, I doubt that'd happen even in the wildest remake.

I felt so bad for the stud girl, even though she obviously had some things going on herself. She looked so freaked-out during the party scene.

As any right thinking person would be. I found that guy creepier than the one who treated his doll like an actual person.
