I've been edging around that series for quite some time - several people have recommended it, but I haven't found it in a library round here so far, and I don't think I want to buy it right away. I'll keep my eyes peeled, though.

Thomas' books are also high on my reading list, but for some reason, I don't like reading German books at the moment. I was thinking of not unselfishly giving the first instalment of the dwarf books to my brother who might be interested. Seriously - can I have that man's life? I just looked at the publication list on his homepage - I'm impressed.

Hm, I don't really like that pairing, but I'll try to remember checking it out. :) I do like het rarepairs (obviously ♥), more than the vast majority of slash pairings, nowadays. A lesbian fanfic writer once told me that she prefers writing het over femslash because she has no language for femslash. While there is a conventionalised language for dealing with most sexual situations that can arise between men and women or even men and men, she felt that everything she could write about women was either too personal or sounded horribly contrived, purply and trite. Maybe more writers feel like that.
