Tree Fetish

The weather has been absolutely mad lately! There has been ice and snow around the end of January, but now the spring is upon is with a force that is almost tangible. I love spring, the weather, the force with which the sun warms everything up, the birds singing again, how everybody seems to be happier, the icy wind which freezes me every morning when we go to the uni, everything. Not interesting news, I know.

But there is nothing new (apart from Crocky's birthday in three days and my woes at finding the time to obtain her gift... which I won't discuss here, with the nosy bugger sitting right next to me). At the uni, we get the exams back these days, everything went well. Except for Literature, which annoys me no ends, but that's nothing new. Russian is great, English Language is great, Psychology is boring. Same as usual.

Oooh, and I love my uni at Hamburg. My wonderful professor accepted the transcript I handed in late after all. She had said we could hand it in whenever we want, but she'd like to have everything by the end of the holidays... the last holidays. But she accepted it! Whee!!

What else? Oh. I have a tree fetish, it is official. I love trees. I hug trees (well, no, I don't. But it's close!). I take pictures of trees. Why? Trees are absolutely great. Example:

Choir has been pretty hard yesterday, with me not being able to do sight reading, us being surrounded by screaming hordes of sopranos once more (grrr.), my voice not being able to make itself heard, all of us constantly singing the wrong line.. the usual. On a happier note - there was a new girl in the choi, Morwen, who knows Julez aka SnapeRulez. She seems to be in her Slavonic's course. The world is sooo small sometimes.

Off to a meeting of my charity. It seems that we are really getting somewhere at the moment. Our six-hour fundraising event at a Sainsbury's this Wednesday raised an impressive amount of £117. I would have never, ever expected that!

Thanks for sharing! What a nice picture! I can't wait until my favourite tree up there has leaves again...

I love trees too. There was a wonderful one at my college campus that I called the Party Tree. I used to blow it a kiss everytime I walked by.

Sigh, that sounds like one cool tree. Yay for the party tree!

When hurricane Isabel swept through a couple years ago, uprooting trees as it went, I spent an inordinate amount of time worrying about the Party Tree. The first thing I did when I got back on campus was check to see if it was okay (it was - though several other trees around it had toppled).

No wonder you've been worried! I always worry about "my" trees, too when there's a storm. Well, most of them are quite old, so they're probably not likely to get damaged... as a Party Tree, your tree is probably also quite stout and old, isn't it? Must look great!

Well done with the trees; the green and blue contrast nicely with each other. And the vertical perspective really works here.

It appears as if our weather has swapped. Last month, it was very warm with hardly any snow at all; now it's freezing and there's around 8 inches of the white stuff on the ground. Bleh.

Thanks. :)

Oooh, I hope the bad weather doesn't come back. I don't want snow. The drizzle outside is bad enough.
