Pictures and Crafty Days

Nothing new on the grandma front.
My mother told me I should not worry about her too much, that she is fine, at least well enough to boss everybody around. Very Grandma. I hope she will be well when I come home.
Another thing which cheered me up - we had an English Language exam yesterday.
I am SO going to fail...!
Well, not really, but I am SO going to get a "B" max and then am SO going to fret about it because it just should have been better, because... Because.
The exam was in the Bute hall, which is the most beautiful part of the entire university. Clever as I am, I did not pack the colour pictures I have made of this wonderful place, but here are some black and white versions which have been tampered with in PhotoShop yesterday.
When I was done crying over a spelling mistake. Seriously, I should not take calligraphy so seriously, but... I am doing a poem for a friend, she wants to give it someone for their birthday, and I managed to mess up the first line of the second page. One page gone. ARGH!!!
So, here are some pictures of the room this university uses for exams:

I resized those, the originals are HUGE. View from my seat without the students. I am a tourist and will act accordingly.

The Hall and Dr Corbett, the scariest professor at this place. He is smiling ALL the time. When he is in class, teaching - he's smiling. When there is a silly mistake which messes up his entire Power Point Presentation - he's smiling. When he is walking along COMPLETELY ALONE along a DESERTED street - he's smiling. It's really weird, the smile never reaches his eyes, but there is a huge, toothy grin on his face.

Big-ass organ. I love it.

James Watt chilling in the adjacent hall. At least he does not have one button of his frock undone like the anonymous guy who stands in the hallway leading up to the Randolph Hall.

Table in front of the Randolph Hall - that hall's the bit barely visible behind the wooden divide at the end of the Bute Hall.

I loved the plant on that wall.

Yeah, a house. Those who know that view - I know the Main Library is mysteriously missing in that picture.

Ooh, this one looks darker than it did at home. Hmm. Benches and a very aesthetic fries box in the background.

This happens when I try to do fan art. ^^
Sigh. I guess I ought to be studying for English Literature and Russian, so I'd better be off. And I need to make my grandma a "get well soon" card...

Date: Saturday, May 20th, 2006 01:49 pm (UTC)Plus - as I think I've said before - your English (and that of pretty much all my non-English mother-tongue LJ friends) is better than that of most of my previous work colleagues over the years. Really, the standard of English in England is truly awful - if I didn't read as much as I do then mine would be just as bad because I was never taught to do it properly!
