Meme thing
Tuesday, July 25th, 2006 02:21 pmI've stolen this Meme from
lordhellebore. Gotta love quizzes.
1. How tall are you barefoot?
1,65m. I am short.
2. Have you ever been cheated on?
Yes, all the time. Well, in board games, at any rate.
3. Do you own a gun?
Nope. May change if I do get a hunting licence to get to do the nature and environment course that goes with it, though. If I can ever get used to the idea of actually going ahead and shooting something. Family traditions are not easy to follow sometimes.
4. If you had a mental disorder, what would it be?
Dysthimia.
Ok, now off to organise that farewell party tonight. Well, the food for it.
I think it'll be french bread-style pizza with some cheese (hmm... Blue Stilton or just Cheddar?) and Mushrooms, and some with Tomato, Mozaralla, and Basil. And Strawberries and Bananas coated in white and black (or brown. I'll see what I can find) Belgian chocolate and some crisps, preferably those delicious Sensations-ones. Or Kettle Chips. I'll see. Oooh, and beverages. Well, I guess some random wine (too warm for alcohol for my taste) and juices. Ok. Off to shop.
And then, later today, packing. Suitcases this time. :(
Three days to go.

Party planning and moving house.
24. Favorite place to be?
In Glasgow, on campus, in Crocky's arms. Cheesy, I know.
25. Least favorite place to be?
In the middle of a room full of people.
26. Where do you want to be?
Here!
27. Do you own slippers?
Uh, I don't think so. Maybe I never through my last pair away, in that case, yes, somewhere.
28. Where do you think you will be in 10 years?
Right now? In ten years? That'll be 14:25, on the 25th of July, 2016? Probably glad that the seventh period is just over in the German school I will be working in, glad to be able to head into the cool of the staff room, to get a coffee and to abuse the horrible class I have been teaching with my nice and equally hopeless colleagues who will exchange wry smiles with me as we talk about the upcoming centralised final exams.
If I am lucky, it is one of the days on which I'll be able to head home early on my bike, pedalling away as fast as I can in my Birkenstock sandals, my clothes, tentlike, resemblant of a French teacher, blowing behind me in the wind like huge sails and be laughed at by small children and teenagers.
A bit later I'll come home, feeling happy and years younger, to my loving, pregnant wife who will probably just be getting ready to leave because Music teachers never seem to have to turn up for work in schools any earlier than 1 pm. Then I will put off correcting the homework I will have to correct over the afternoon and sit down somewhere quiet with a mug of coffee to work on my second successfull novel. Well, fine, maybe my first. I will be glad that Baby No.1, whose name I never really liked but who is absolutely cute, is still asleep. I will realise that I am, all things considered, happier than I'd ever thought I'd be, even though the great things I always assumed I would achieve have never and will never be achieved.

34. What did you fear was going to get you at night as a child?

Something Crocky said.
37. Best bed sheets you had as a child?
The Land Before The Time bedsheets with Littlefoot on them!!! I loved them.
38. Worst injury you've ever had?
A bone-deep gash in the middle of my shin, resulting from my attempt to dodge my brother's water pistol. I ran into the stone sill of the garage window which is about 50cm above the ground of our patio.
39. What is your GPA?
My what? Grade point average? Gosh, no idea. Last time I checked it still averaged around A, but now I think it must have drooped towards B.
40. How many TVs do you have in your house?
In our flat we have one, but I have no clue about all our neighbours.

48. What song do you want played at your funeral?
Hm. "Don't Worry, Be Happy". Nah, seriously, I don't know and I wouldn't want to choose. I think something which would make the few people who attend it happier. If there is anyone. I plan to die last, so no one has to turn up for my funeral.
