Happy Halloween to all who are celebrating it and a happy Reformation Day to the rest!

Typical of the German government to change its status from a public holiday back to a regular working day, I could strangle them. Grrrr. Although there seem to be a few states who still list it as a public holiday, so maybe it's just Hamburg. If that's the case, even more grrrrrr. 

Here's a picture that does not really fit any of the aforementioned occasions - or both, if you are thus inclined:

So, nearly time to head off to the Minnesang-seminar. 
I don't want to go out there, it's all so cold and grey! I'm inside at the moment and already the cold and damp air is creeping into my joints... And the Bachelor/Master students are always so... keen. Can get on your nerves sometimes. And after that seminar I'll be squashed for a while, in Prof. Berg's seminar, which is a complete nightmare for the fire regulations (should we have any) and thus a typical German seminar. We're around 70 people in a room designed for maybe 20. 
The thought of squeezing myself into that room alone gives me the creeps, and it always seems to go on forever and ever...

Ah, well. Off now.

But I know what you mean by not wanting to go out there. I have the Jew of Malta stuff now. Yikes. It's so warm and cuddly here.

Technically, you'd be perfectly entitled to celebrate Halloween, it's the "reinfeier-"-version of All Saints Day - so you could attend a kind of midnight vigil.

Hm, do submarine-Wicca exist who only ever celebrate Samhain, but can't be bothered to do anything during the rest of the year?

That's a shoddy translation, but I couldn't come up with a better one. Do you know the concept of an "U-Boot Christ"? A submarine Christian? Those people who only turn up for the Christmas service? :D

Really? That's strange. I specifically read someone referring to herself as "a Wicca". Hm. Oh, and Willow on Buffy does, too! But maybe that's a subgroup or something. Wiccans sounds so much better. Hm.

I celebrate Halloween because I love pumpkins and horror.
And it's a holiday here and I don't know whether my exercise group does take place tomorrow or doesn't or does take place in a few days....or if it did already.....ahhhh. university.
Nonetheless I'll work tomorrow, perhaps even the whole day, as I want as much as possible be done, finished and handed in until my birthday on Sunday.

Although I have to admit that I thought it was more than silly the first time I came in contact with the holiday.

Happy Happy Halloween!! I wish I could upload a picture of my carved pumpkins, but it's not a big deal. I didn't do any elaborate patterns this year.

Lots of trick or treaters this evening, though not as many as I'd hoped for. Well, time to gear up for Thanksgiving. I love fall!!
