Congratulations to all of you who made it!!

I gave up last Thursday:

It was clear that I'd probably not manage 50k this month, what with the thesis and papers and whatnot, but I loved writing and working on m story. I am going to continue that, it was fun. I would not show the thing to anyone, it's not good enough for that, I think, but it's nice to have something to tinker with again. I am also rather proud of my word count, considering what has been going on and I am seriously considering joining the  National Novel Writing Year 2009, a continuation of the NaNoWriMo madness by other means. There is also a pretty dead LJ community: [livejournal.com profile] nanowriye.

The idea is very appealing, although I couldn't say with what wordcount I'd challenge myself. Especially given the fact that I'll be officially in my exam phase for nine months as of next February and anything non-exam related will be pretty much doomed during that time.

:)

First of all, your wordcount is impressive, and very much so, considering how busy you are and were. I managed less in years that kept me less busy.
NaNoWriYe sounds very appealing indeed - you can always take it easy, because you will need distractions even in the exam phase, and tinker away at your OFic a little at it.
If you do, though, just be careful that your research subject doesn't creep in threatens to take over as it did with my NaNo: Culture contact of the Sindar and Noldor and the possible development of Eldarin Pidgins and Creoles. -_- Of course Tolkien's world was a big and gorgeous excuse for linguistic self-gratification, but this? Eeeesh. *cough*

Hey, in terms of linguistic self-gratification, Eldarin pidgins and creoles are just taking his own thinking a step further, so that's an awesome topic to take over your NaNo. :)

Yeah, the easy-going layout of the NaNoWriYe is really appealing. I think I'll go for 200k or 250k- and spend the rest of the year editing. -_-

My research topic is not likely to take over, though. Although I have occasionally been known to sneak some details on performance theories into parts about my bards. :P

Oh, since I'm already in whispering-mode, I won't be able to come to the course today. Tooth ache, yeesh.

Well done! 33,000 words is nothing to sneeze at. You definitely wrote more words than I did this month. I didn't keep track though...
