Plans for the weekend

I realised I may need a man in my life. Preferably someone tall and impressive who lives in Hannover and has a lot of time.

This realisation came when it dawned on me there is no way I can risk traipsing around in the abandoned Conti AG Werk across town in the middle of an eerie abandoned industrial area all by myself, not even with 110 on the speed dial button.

This sucks.

As things are I'll have to wait until my little brother has time to come to Hannover. He fits the bill, he is tall and male. Not necessarily much use when fighting off evil muggers, but if he brings his tripod we'll at least have something to shake at them while I dial 110.



I really want to go there, though. Ever since I joined abandonedplaces, urban_decay, and rural_ruin I've become increasingly jealous of the pretty pictures the members post and I want to play urban explorer and have a look at abandoned places myself.

Ihr steigt 14 Minuten später an der Station "Limmer/ Schleuse" aus und von da holen der Hund (und/oder Almo) Euch ab. (Da fährt auch ein Bus, der bei der Conti direkt vor der Tür hält - leider am Sonntag nur alle Fünf Jahre einmal am Tag und Sonntags der Erste um 12: 49 Uhr ...)

Doesn't it? And it's only ten minutes away by train, too!

I'm thinking of either just going with Crocky during the day and having a look at how scary it really is, and if it is really so remote and eerie I'll probably try to go with her and my brother one weekend. I don't know anyone who's into that sort of thing, and asking random strangers from a Hannover forum is probably counter-productive.

This is really weird, I've never had the feeling that I need company to go somewhere before, and it's pretty frustrating. I am not sure why I even worry so much about finding an escort, and maybe I'm overreacting. I used to be pretty carefree when it comes to walking around in a city without feeling the need to take anyone along, male or female, at any time. However, something about this place suggests that it might be a good idea to take along someone who even only looks impressive - and whenever my ickle brother takes pictures at night people cross the road to keep a distance from him, so there must be something about him. :D

Yup, 110 for the police, 112 for fire and medical emergencies - although I think that if you call 112, you can still get help for all three. 112 is EU standard, so they may lose 110 completely one day.
