How is everyone?

I finally have a label for myself, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mqnsk, who came up with this label for the likes of us:

Femmebutch Knights of Misanthropy

I want that on a T-shirt, and a shirt that says "Dumm oder was?" for discussions with my sometimes not so smart fellow-Germans. I've seen an icon with that line, and I think I'd love it for teaching.

What I've been doing?

Job-hunting, studying, tidying up our flat, making chainmail, teaching and taking names. I'll post pictures of trips [livejournal.com profile] niaseath and I made to abandoned buildings in Hannover in the next couple of days.

Wow, kudos for making sense of my comment above, reads like brainfailure. I'm glad that it wasn't only my proficiency with those pens that made my results so sucky. I'll check out the regular paint, then.

How do you get writing on T-shirts? Do you use a disposable paper stencil or do you draw outlines on the T-shirts in pencil and paint them in with the acrylic paint? I'm a noob.

Errr... my brain is weird?

If you've never done anything like this before, I'd recommend paper stencil, even though you have to be careful not to make the borders too messy. Pencil only works on very light t-shirts and is often still visible through the paint - I usually draw very light lines with the paint first and paint them in if I'm happy with the result (most paints can be removed with water when still fresh).
Most t-shirts are a bit stretchy, so it usually is easiest to pin them to some kind of pad. I use old magazines and put them inside the shirt so the paint doesn't go through.

Have fun :)

I was thinking of using my embroidery hoop for stretching the t-shirts, and the magazines are a good idea. Paper stencils it is, then - I don't dare to draw directly on the fabric.

I will. :)

Oh, you have an embroidery hoop? *is envious*

I'm looking forward to seeing the result!
