Rug Chapel

Chapel from the outside.

Nave as seen from in front of the altar.

View of the altar.

Beautiful carvings on the church benches.
We had to come back there because we left Crocky's bag behind in the benches. Oops.
Plas Newydd in Llangollen

The house of the Ladies of Llangollen. Wikis of various languages will have us know that the relationship of the women is absolutely and purely 100% platonic.

"A heavenly evening. blue sky with pitches of cloud scattered over it. My Beloved and I went to the shrubbery. Spent the Evening there, brought our books. Planted our one hundred carnations."

Abbey Valle Crucis

Other Harry Potter fans were apparently here before us.

Swallows nests everywhere.
Denbigh Castle

View of Denbigh. We never could wrap our head around British street-by-street architecture.

Well, at least they tell you.

Gatehouse to end all gatehouses.

Edmund, the young son of Henry de Lacy who authorised the building of the castle under Edward I, died drowning in this well. Must be something about it, the Welsh castles have quite a high accident rate. Only this year another teenager fell into the well, though he survived.

That's us at the Well of Death.

Another look at the gatehouse.

This castle comes with a sink in its kitchen. Pretty state-of-the-art.

Date: Monday, July 29th, 2013 06:34 pm (UTC)I always have to smile about the well-mowed lawns inside the castle and cloister-ruins. I wish mine in the garden would look as nice....

Date: Wednesday, July 31st, 2013 12:12 pm (UTC)I doubt that if I ever have a garden, I'll get much mowing done. I'm pretty intimidated by the prospect of having one, even. My colleagues all talk about theirs like it's their second job.
