Runestones! Reading Futhark is even more difficult in a foreign language, and that the runes are always slightly different does not help, either.




Stables. The pit you can just see in the background in the middle has an elk skin being prepared for further leatherwork. I'm unfamiliar with the terminology, but they're at the stage at which you soak the skin in water and wait until the hair falls off. #

I always admire people who have the patience to do any of the fabric and thread related reenacting. I would have been a horrible Viking.

I loved that contrast - the village Höllviken was too far away to include in any pictures, but the boat and the bridge - as though it time-travelled. :D
