As always I took obscene amounts of photos on our trip, from which I've then chosen the handfulls of presentable ones, but there a still a large number that I wanted to include.

If you want, click on the image and it'll redirect you to a post of the day on which it was taken. I didn't really add a lot of text, because I expect not everybody is interested in Edward I's 13th Century quest for Wales (we did look at an awful lot of castle ruins, be warned).

You're welcome! Also: mission accomplished if you want to go to Wales now. It really is the most beautiful place on earth.

These are such fantastic photos! Awesome how different some of the objects look when they're photographed by someone who knows their stuff (I've taken pics of some of the same places in Stockholm, and the difference is striking!)

Did you have a coffee at Stortorget? The yellow building houses the "Gay Café of the Year" (five times in a row if I'm not mistaken). :)

And Plas Newydd! :)))

Those Wikipedias are sad. I wish everyone would just stop getting hung up on whether relationships were OMGsexual or not. I don't care if they did it or not, but this constant "they didn't!" is so compulsive. I also encounter it when I talk about female couples in the 19th century. As soon as I mention "eroticism", a lot of people -- even academics -- think, "she says that they're lesbians", and react by saying that oh, but many just lived together as roommates. Well, yeah. But that the borders could be quite fluent is something that is very hard to bring across.

I'm flattered that you like my pictures! I always love looking at other people's pictures of places I've been to, too, it's interesting to see what they saw differently than me, what they picked up on and saw that I didn't.

We were thinking about having coffee and cakes at Stortorget, but the place was absolutely packed, so we didn't. I was thrilled to discover it, though, it's such a beautiful place.

The Wikis give me headaches. I find this obsession with whether or not two ladies who clearly chose to live and build a life together had sex or not rather creepy and myopic.
