I'm done! I couldn't do much during the past five days because of my cold, and here is the result:

Even though as you can see there are some unevenness when it comes to flower centres and yarns I'm very pleased with the result. I'm not sure what to do with this happy little fellow now, but it was still great to make.

He's absolutely adorable, and I love the way the various colours are set off by the blue background.

Give him a name and put him somewhere visible - it's the kind of thing that makes you smile when you look at it. And smiles are always a good thing.

Glad you like the hippo. :)

Ha, actually, I've been thinking the hallway, but somehow, our permanently-cluttered table in the hall does not seem to be a good place.

Oh, wow, that is what you did with the flower-pieces! That is so neat! I especially love the ears :-)

But even though you used it so productively I hope that your cold is much better by now!

I was a bit doubtful at first when I saw the pattern, but it turned out to be as much fun as modular origami. :D

It sort of is, though my colleagues and I have been in a permanent state of illhealth since January. Nobody ever seems to get healthy again and we can't stop giving our various ailments to each other over and over. It's really a nuisance!

I must say your choice of colours and of granny square pattern works much better than those in the images you showed previously. Adorable! :o) What a cute fellow.

I was a bit doubtful after I had made half the patterns, but now I am actually rather happy with the result. :D

Thank you!

It's sort of better- in the sense that I didn't want to stay at home any longer but don't really feel up to it. Fun times.

How utterly, utterly adorable!

I'd say crochet an intrepid lady explorer with an umbrella to go with him. *g*

Oh, that's a good idea. I've been thinking of giving figurines a go, but I'm a bit daunted. Maybe that's a good follow-up project. :)

Thanks! Not that I'm not proud as anything, but I think it still looks more complex than it is. The pattern I used is really good and all you need to be able to do is crochet shapes. :)
