Apparently, I'm pregnant.

Or Crocky is. Or my brother is. Or his secret girlfriend is. Take your pick.

My mother just forwarded an e-mail she had received from a second-degree cousin who was told by her daughter that she was told by another second-degree cousin that my mother is going to be a grandma. Much humorous mind-racking ensued, and that none of us has been in contact with the source of this information just made this all the more mysterious.

Maybe they know things I don't know?

So far the most likely theories are that either,

a.) they saw my "engaged" status on SVZ (is there such a thing? Do I even have that status?) and deduced that since I am engaged I MUST BE PREGNANT.

b.) the person in question mixed me up with my second-degree cousin (er... the daughter of my mother's cousin. Yeah. Second-degree) who had a little daughter two years ago. Since the person in question is not really in contact with either of us, this might be the most likely solution to the pregnancy mystery.

Now my mother's receiving congratulations from all sorts of people who haven't surfaced in years. I suppose I should get going with finding appropriate baby names and a donor. o.O

I must say that I read the first line of your post and did a double take!

In our family I have an aunt that I dislike who has a friend that is an irresponsible psychic (She's the sort who'd say "I think you're going to die." or something equally frowned upon in psychic circles). Every now and then she'll get 'a message' that someone in the family is going to be pregnant or some such thing and it will go around the grapevine as they try and find out if there is any truth in it.

He, don't worry. It's not likely that I'll be pregnant any time soon, and less likely that it'll be surprising when I am.

A psychic is just what my family needs, that would make things even more confusing - it's bad enough as it is with all the extended family on my mother's side. Must be interesting to have one in the family, though!

Oh, we're busy, but fine. Packing. Moving. Panicking about the old washing machine sitting in our basement which we can't take with us, which the new tenant probably is not too keen on, and which I am hoping that that guy at the hardware store still wants it.
