Meme break!
A. Age: 27.
B. Bed size: right now? 140x200. Crocky's and mine? 180x200.
C. Chore you hate: many - picking up my rooms. Cleaning the cat's litter box. Dusting. Deep-cleaning. Taking clothes off of clotheslines, pairing up socks with their long-lost sibling, really simple sewing tasks like sewing on a lost button.
D. Dogs: yes. I grew up with dogs. My grandfather's hunting dog was practically one of my primary care-givers when I was under the age of five, and after that, he was my best friend, my playmate, my protector. When my mother took me shopping when I was a baby she could have left my stroller standing outside the shop with me in it as long as our dog was there because he'd snarl at anyone who got too close to me (unfortunately, he also didn't like my father getting too close, because my father didn't live with us at the time).
E. Essential start to your day: at least five minutes of snoozing while I dozily run through the things I need to do that day and then coffee. Lots.
F. Favorite color: I don't really have a favourite colour. I usually wear dark colours - mostly black, green, dark purple. I think it's black.
G. Gold or silver: silver!
H. Height: 1,65 (5'5").
I. Instruments you play: I can't even play air-guitar convincingly, really. I can plonk my way through very easy tunes on the piano, I can get some very wobbly notes out of a trumpet that don't sound too much like a blocked nostril, but I don't really play an instrument. My mother tried to have me learn the recorder when I was seven, but I stopped practising, stopped going and never looked back.
J. Job title: Referendarin - trainee teacher.
K. Kids: none, as yet. In future? Yes, though Crocky and I differ on how many. I don't really want more than two (sorry, potential offspring #3!), she'd love to go up to as many as four. So. Three? Two and then see? I'm not sure. All I know is that right now, I'm not ready for a child yet and I won't be for a while, until I completed my teaching degree and am employed.
L. Live: yes? Oh. In Germany.
M. Mother’s name: Astrid.
N. Nicknames: Andi, Moth, Dea.
O. Overnight hospital stays: none.
P. Pet peeve: People who occupy the same enclosed space I do who are noisy - listen to loud music, talk on the phone VERY LOUDLY AS THOUGH THEY WEREN'T USING A PHONE, whistle, tap the floor, chew gum, kiss with loud slurping noises. You're not alone, BE QUIET.
Q. Quote from a movie: "Be excellent to each other. "
R. Right- or left-handed: Right. I'm disappointed, because my mother's mixed-handed and I'd have really loved to inherit that.
S. Siblings: One brother,
niaseath , seven years younger than me, bio-chemistry student (they grow up so fast), photographer, heavy metal fan, Draenei healer, and taller than me, confusingly. In my head he's a twelve-year-old Pokémon fan who loves the colour yellow.
T. Time you wake up: that depends on when I got to bed the night before. Usually at around 7 am, though.
U. Underwear: boring and sensible with occasional bouts of cute- or playfulness.
V. Vegetables you dislike: I can't eat onions, I'm never sure what to do with eggplants, and I get mysteriously queasy after eating warm tomatoes or red peppers.
W. What makes you run late? A lack of organisation and lack of motivation to move outside.
X. X-Rays you’ve had: teeth (cavities, tooth growing the wrong direction), chest (nothing wrong with my lungs), and knees (nothing wrong with those, either, but whenever stress gets the better of me they hurt when it's raining or otherwise wet outside, so something is wrong with them).
Y. Yummy food you make: simple things - chocolate cookies, muffins, cupcakes, cakes. Also, stuffed mushrooms.
Z. Zoo- favorite animal: any big cats, manta rays, butterflies, and giant tortoises.

Date: Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 06:44 pm (UTC)SILVER!! :D I love silver jewellery. My favourites are all made of silver. I used to have a celtic-knot ring that I'd been wearing every day ever since I was fourteen years old. I lost it last year. I just looked down at my hand one day and it was Not There. Having grown so used to its presence it was a shock to discover that it was gone, and I never found it again - obviously, since I had no clue as to where and when I'd last seen it.
He should return, I absolutely agree, though he's busy with his first finals, poor thing.
Loving your reaction to animals and kissing! XD

Date: Friday, March 4th, 2011 03:35 pm (UTC)I'm not wearing anything else as well, and usually prefer the Celtic or Scandinavian look to it. Since we couldn't afford very pretty wedding rings when we married, we gave ourselves "second" ones to our tenth anniversary. They were still of the inexpensive kind, in comparison, but are custom- and hand-made and simply adorable (as I find) ;o). Wide, irregular bands of wrought sterling silver with minuscule, circular cabochon stones set in. A turmalin for my partner and a moonstone for myself. (Here are some, though they don't look half as good on the images.) We found the silversmith on a Medieval fair. Later, my partner had me made a Celtic cross with a moonstone to fit.

Date: Saturday, March 5th, 2011 01:50 pm (UTC)Our rings were extremely cheap because we were poor students when we married, so they're not very fancy. They're also a bit too large because something went wrong with the measurements we send in, so I'm wearing my ring on the middle finger rather than the ring finger. No wonder nobody ever figures out that I'm married. XD

Date: Saturday, March 5th, 2011 08:04 pm (UTC)Same for us, or rather "unemployed post-grad" in case of my partner. Our parents would have paid for them, as they did with the wedding (we were and are really, really blessed with our families), but we found hat at least the rings should be bought from what we could afford.
We had wanted silver rings, too, but kind of weren't allowed by the people in the shop. So they gave us white gold. We wanted simple bands and got them, but they became more and more golden over time, and one day simply decided to get what we wanted - silver, and possibly not industry-made - when the occasion arise. And now we have!:o)
My youngest sister has a great variety as well, and we're thinking about doing the same. While she and her husband could and did afford "normally" priced rings (meaning expensive *g* ), they both care much for for a tattoo they're wearing underneath the ring: a Celtic braid/knot pattern, tattooed like a ring. I envy her that! I don't wear my ring all the time, since it's too wide to be comfortable in some situations, and I keep huting myself with the cabochon at night. Also, the hammered pattern of the band sufers if it gets into contact with other metall or hard surfaces, so we take the rings off for most kind of works in the garden and the house. A tattoo would be a great addition...
My sister also wears tattoos for her girls, both at the base of her neck so she can hide them under job clothing. She's having the sum of digits (Quersumme) for each name of her children, one under the other. So there are simply numbers, in a good-to-look-at typeface.

Date: Saturday, March 5th, 2011 08:25 pm (UTC)I'm intrigued by tattooed marriage rings but I'd be worried that they wind up looking bad. They're such a nice gesture, though.

Date: Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 02:57 am (UTC)Oh, goodness, I can't imagine losing a ring like that! It'd break my little heart. I used to wear all mine, but now I keep them on a sturdy metal chain neclace tied around my bag. It's a bit odd, but then, I am too...

Date: Friday, March 4th, 2011 03:24 pm (UTC)Your dog-carer story is very sweet. I really envy you - and my nieces - the opportunity of growing up with a pet, at least for the first years. I had pets later on, and my granddad, living in the same house, had a tame crow when I was very small. I don't remember it, only the tales about him, but was always rather drawn to these birds.
Astrid is one of my favourite names ever, but hereabouts, you can't name a girl like that. The broad dialect spoken by some people would make her life hell at prep school.
I hear you on that lack of organisation and motivation *g*. I got the hang of the "organisation" lately, though not on the "motivation".

Date: Sunday, March 6th, 2011 11:43 am (UTC)I would love to have one. Of course, the cats wouldn't be happy *lol*. One of the dreams I always had is connecting to some wild animal individuals so well that they will come from time to time for a chat and a snack, but remain free... at least we're living rural enough to see small birds of prey on nearly every trip to the central city, and often enough crows feeding on the fields besides the street.
