I think the prettiest font that I have ever seen in my life is the font used in the "Red" Carroux-translated 1990ies Klett-Cotta edition of Lord of the Rings (ISBN 360895855X) and I found people discussing which font it is.

They think it's ITC Weidemann LT Book Regular, and this looks about right.

Back to trying to work.

Looks about right, I would say. We could always ask vaysh11, do you know her? She did the final edit of the current Carroux edition.

Wasn't that the current Krege edition?

I thought so at first, due to a misunderstanding on my part, and may even have said so somewhere. But it's in the legal notice at the end of my Carroux edition. If she has also worked at the Krege edition, it must be a newer edition than ours, because I didn't find anything in it.

Okay. Well, I know she worked on the Krege one (and yes, it's a new version), but I didn't know about the Carroux one :)

Ah, then perhaps I didn't get it wrong at first, just didn't know the whole of it. :o) I'll go and have a look in the next Krege I'll see in a bookstore.

I know that she's friends with [livejournal.com profile] lordhellebore, but I haven't really interacted with her much, rather than admire her comments from afar occasionally. Woow, that is so cool! Editing is one of my dream jobs. :)

She is a very kind, open person from what I can say. I hadn't met her in fandom when we met at a fannish get-together last year and she asked me to friend me. She's been very kind and helpful, and she introduced me not only to Tolkien fanfic and the fandom online (I had never really looked into Tolkien fanfic and never been much aware of the fandom online, though by now I can't understand how I could not *g* ) but also to the marvellous read_lotr_aloud.

It does look right and is a very nice font. Pleasing to the eye and easy to read. :D

Isn't it? I changed my LJ to that font and I like it so far.
